I love receiving comments, they give me feedback on my art so I know how to improve. Getting favs only lets me know how many people liked it, but receiving comments lets me know why.

I like the elegance of your stamps, those clean colors and the rounded corners :3 I guess I will imitate that style a bit in my next stamp

Yeah, but see, I run on a different opinion: When people favorite my work, that gives me the inspiration to test my boundaries; what can I write, what should I avoid writing, what sparks interest, what kills interest, what's appropriate for what age group...

And, in that testing, I do eventually improve.

But, when I attempt to see if this theory reflects in other people, I usually get slammed with "being an asshole" for "fave-and-running", when really, I just wanted to see what would happen if I added my name to their "I appreciate this piece" list.

Some people just don't care, whether by popularity or because they're used to it, or because they're like me. But, some people get really hurt over it, and I'm never sure why. I'm too much of a jokester to give any GOOD feedback as it is, so if I tried to settle down and give my two cents, I fear I might insult the person even worse than if I said nothing at all.

See, that's why it annoys me when people say "Leave a comment if you fave", even if they mean it for their own good or just for the hell of chatting. It's like I'm bound by law to say something that might offend people because it's in my DNA to act irrationally, as that's how I base my comedy perspective.

See what I'm getting at here? I mean, I get the stamp, but it's just... well, even if I wanted to leave proper feedback, it's not like I COULD, per se.

well i don't know about you not leaving proper feedback. what you just wrote there didn't sounded pretty thoughtful. however, i'm not demanding that people comment with every fave they give me, i only made the stamp to encourage people to comment on my art because i'm one of those people who likes to receive feedback so i can tell how i should improve.

Well, both say that favorites can't replace comments. Just described in another way.
